E minor pentatonic

One of the most popular scales used for guitar solos is the minor pentatonic. It’s just based on 5 notes (hence penta) and you have a basic scale. Just add one or two notes and you have a new scale. The basic box form is as follows.

While if you want to start shredding across the neck, you just move the shape across the strings as follow.

This is used by Jimi Hendrix in Purple Haze and people will be impressed once you rock out !!
